Must be age 16-24
Must have a challenge to employment or training, such as not having a diploma or GED
May need to meet income guidelines
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Studies show that young adults, age 16-24, who haven't completed high school, struggle with these education and employment issues:
Almost 40% of young adults who didn't complete high school are living below poverty level.
-Limited Job Availability-
54% of 16-24 year old people who didn't complete high school are unemployed.
-Fewer Job Options-
90% of jobs in the U.S. require at least a high school diploma or a GED.
On average, those who do not complete high school make $10,000 less per year than those with a diploma or GED.
Many students do not complete high school because they have no way to get to school.
- Lack of Support-
School counselors say a lack of support is the number one reason students do not finish high school.
